The Martin Library Honors Committee will honor one of the library’s dedicated volunteers June 2 with the renaming of the Legacy Room.
William H. Simpson, the former CEO and president of Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff who passed away in 2012, will be the 30th person celebrated by the Martin Library Honors program.
During the 2 p.m. ceremony, the Legacy Room will be renamed to the Bill Simpson Room, in memory of Simpson’s service as the chair of the library’s board of directors and as a co-chair for two capital campaign, according to a release.
An endowment fund for the purchase of library materials has been established in Simpson’s name. Memorial contributions may be sent to The William Simpson Honors Fund c/o Martin Library, 159 E. Market St., York, PA 17401.
